Bump to baby: Maternity and newborn photoshoot, before and after
This bump-to-baby photoshoot is one very close to my heart, the family I photographed is my brother and sister-in-law. I LOVE it when parents come in for a maternity photoshoot, and then return for a newborn photoshoot afterward. From an artistic perspective, it really helps tell the story of their family from the beginning, all the way through year after year.
It’s lovely to look back on the images and see your family growing from just the two of you, to the 3 of you and bump, then to four of you. What a magical process (sometimes I know it doesn’t feel like it) and it definitely deserves to be documented. It’s easy to forget what it’s like to be pregnant. A photoshoot is a wonderful way of remembering you and your baby when they were just a little bump.
THE NEWBORN SHOOT
This is the truly fun part because, with older siblings, you never know how they are going to act when a new baby is introduced, especially when they are being photographed. I’d love to tell you that my niece loved the experience, but she did not. After a lot of persuasion and bribery, we managed to get the important shots of her with her new brother. This is something that as a mother of four children, is so important to me. All of your babies in one photograph.
Every photoshoot is completely unique, none more so than a bump-to-baby shoot. Your images will represent your family and that’s the beauty of custom photography, it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach, it’s an experience that by the end, will leave you with images that feel very ‘you’
